Just BREATHE, Baby......
After seventeen straight days of below-freezing weather {and seventeen nights of sub-zero temps}, our local thermometer finally staggered up to that magic 32 degrees today.
The heat wave lasted approximately six and a half minutes..........
In all seriousness though, I am not fazed in the least by the continuing polar vortex - it's natural climate change, which always, always occurs independent of any man-made factors. Those that say otherwise are talking out their own arses, period. I've been cheerfully chopping and burning mass quantities of renewable solid fuel {fire wood, for you suburban types out there}; and have been quite warm and toasty the whole time. Better still, the residue from the burnings will go back into the garden come spring, and enrich some food crops along the way.
Waste not, want not, dont'cha know. To hell with natural gas, or oil, or electricity for heat - what worked for the pioneer settlers STILL works just fine today. And it's not taxed, regulated, or otherwise a pain in the wallet {or mailbox, or voting booth} - we're talking pure FREEDOM, boys and girls; all it takes is a little elbow-grease........ Which is good for the ol' CV system to boot - win-win, I'd say. Pretty damn comfy too, when the wind chill hits -45 or so.
It's all good though - the above dovetails with the fresh start I alluded to last post. The changes in my life reflect a new degree of wisdom, self-sufficiency, and common sense, which will continue to play out in the weeks and months ahead. A solid change for the better, and all that. Oh, I'll still get to current affairs - and the dread politics - in the near futre; but for now I'm just laying back and enjoying a little less of an icy chill in the lungs as things start to fall into place. The future has many bright glimmers, so stay tuned.

2014; A New Beginning
Yeah, it's been a while {again}.
The New Year sees me well along the way to a little peace-of-mind, and a sense of stability. Gone for good are the mistakes of late 2012 / early 2013; the lessons learned from said mistakes will be applied going forward. Better still, there are several exciting opportunities in front of me which will be played out in the weeks and months ahead. I'll detail what I can, when I can, right here as always - but don't be concerned if there are large gaps between updates. I'm still suffering from Interwide Web-thingy burnout, and I'm keeping my online time down to a minimum as a result. I'll post when it's right for me to do so.
Big picture-wise, I'm well aware that this is another election year; I'll have a few Silly Season nuggets in due course, along with the general "notes and addenda" this blog is well known for. The old routine will be back, if slightly modified, in other words. This blog is still good therapy, and hopefully will continue to grow and change for the foreseeable future. I'm cautiously optimistic.
So sit back and ride the groove once more, boys and girls. I'll be doing my bit here as conditions permit. And who knows, there just might be a chunk or two of mind-blowing fun in the near future; smart readers will stay tuned..........
